Information we collect

OpenDocs does not collect, sell, or share personal information with us or with third parties. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Documents and reading history

When you choose a document, OpenDocs uses the operating system’s document provider to read it on your device. The app stores local document references, recent-file history, favourites, and optional reading positions so that you can continue later. Document contents are not uploaded to OpenDocs or to a remote conversion service.

You can clear recent history from the app’s Settings. Uninstalling the app removes the app’s locally stored settings and history. Your original files remain under your control in their original location.

Sharing and external apps

If you choose Share, Open with, or Contact, OpenDocs hands the selected file or email draft to an application you choose through the operating system. The receiving application’s handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy. OpenDocs does not receive a copy of files you share this way.

Optional network requests

The optional Support the author screen may request a QR-code image from VietQR so it can display the donation information. OpenDocs does not send document contents or personal information in that request. The image provider may receive normal technical request information such as an IP address under its own privacy practices.

Children’s privacy

OpenDocs is a general-purpose utility and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when a new version is published.
